It was really nice there - some cultural shock at first, then wonderful things in the mountains. I remember, I wrote you that I needed some shock and I really got it. Constant tiredness, strange dreams that started just after we reached foothills. People told us about magnetic anomalies that are abundant in Ural Mountains, and strangest dreams were definitely in such places. I've read that first Roman invaders in Britain were building temples or "dream incubators" in places with similar effects on human psyche. And now I think, I'm hooked on this topic. Surely I'll try to spot such places in Lithuania and see what dreams are like there. The top' experience probably was meeting of small group of reindeer shepherds at the end of our journey.:))) They are still living nomadic life - tents similar to those of North American Indians "tipi", lots of guard-dogs. And total absence of socium, I think, it had really positive influence on my thinking ' coz you can see many things from "outside" that are just pure conditioning, social engineering and brainwashing. Vasha and his group SALA are going to perform in biggest Lithuanian avant-garde festival "Sumirimas" 16th November. They plan to do something around Hasan Sabah theme, so they ask for some references.

Parallelly from the Zone's side, Cosmodelia in the Interzone Coffee House asked about an article in the press identifying ben Ladden to Hassan Sabbah. There has been a lot of misinformations through the centuries about Hassan Sabbah (the legend of the Old Man and the Assassins), which has led to manipulations of his image. So it seemed urgent to me to put on line the info I had from my side, and forward it in the Coffee House : http://www.inter-zone.org/hassan2.html . Just after this, someone sent a mail a bout a briefing on Afghan culture he had had the previous day at work, the contents of which, compaired to what I have been observing myself in Afghanistan in 1974, appeared to me as racial propaganda and brainwashing. Now the contents was interesting as it contains similar false ideas as ones I have been hearing here in Europe, so it did not only represent the contents of the briefing, but widespread patterns and clichés. The elements I have gathered on Hassan Sabbah and Alamut since 10 years infer completely this legend: Hassan had nothing to see with terrorism, he was an ally of the French king St Louis, and of the templars against the Mongol invaders. Due to the risk of false identification between the Zone, a group of Burroughs' readers involved in art production out of professional circuits, and any ideological group invested in self destruction and destruction of other humans, I wanted to make clear that we have nothing to see with the false ideas stuck on the character of Hassan in the Western imagery. I looked for a serious source of information on the subject and found a biography of Hassan on the web from Eastern source which made clear that the legend was inventions . This was in the site of the Heritage Society: First Ismaili Electronic Library and Database: http://ismaili.net/~heritage/lib.html , related to the Agha Khan , descendant of Hassan Sabbah. I wrote to the web master of the site to ask for more information, explaining the situation. He has been sending a URL containing a huge source of information http://www.ismaili.net/histoire/history06/content600.html . As a result, this seems to me the most reliable source, and as an Ismaelian one, the most documented on the subject.

As a result of those events, some Zoners think about leaving US, not only for security reasons, but also for money reasons: no job, or worthless ones. Same here . Though some Zoners in Africa and Lebanon plan to come to Europe. As far as I can see, France has the vigipirate plan , which has unpleasant consequences for the citizens . The life in Belgium is quiet, as usual, and as far as I can see after one year, more free than France at different levels. The city is a melting pot of immigrants coming from everywhere, and it's a kind of Interzone (The nurses I work with are Italian, Russian, Moroccan, French, etc.). Belgian people are simple, not pretentious, enjoying life, the country is close to France Holland and Germany. So if you want, we can gather here and make a commercial society with the Interzone creations (see the Catalogue http://www.inter-zone.org/catal1.html) and put up an academy. The context might be good as well as the place is going to host production studios of the Creations du Dragon http://www.creationsdudragon.com/ in two or three years. A commercial status would allow us to solve the 3 months visa problem. :) Necessary condition : to have someone graduated in business studies, as I am not good at that. If we rent a place, sharing the rent should make it affordable. Well, see what you think...

Anthony Rousseau has just passed his post-diploma at the Fine Arts School with the congratulations of the jury for his Cdrom , "SAMPLING STORIES". It allows a writing/reading of the art work as a cut-up.
