Hi all,

Summer is here, and a hot one ! Here is what's been going on lately :

Fifth birthday of Interzone and August 2nd meetings :

a) Meeting in the Interzone Coffee House chat-room:

Since 5 years, the activity of the Zone has not decreased and it keeps developping by itself, each month bringing new events, ideas and creations. For the fifth aniversary of Burroughs' death and start of Interzone, there will be a chat meeting on 2nd August in the chatroom of the Interzone Coffee House http://groups.yahoo.com/group/theinterzonecoffeehouse/ . We can make it from 9 pm to 11 pm Paris time : see the worldclock at http://www.interpc.fr/mapage/westernlands/worldclock2.html If another time is better for you, send a mail to the Interzone Coffee House so it will be available to the whole group.

To get to the Interzone Coffee House, you have to join the club at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/theinterzonecoffeehouse/join . If you do not want to stay in the club after the chat, you can unsubscribe then.

If you cannot access to the chat there, send the address of the one you can use to izz@inter-zone.org . Someone suggested a yahoo chat, but they are all occupied and it's not easy to have a group chat there.

b) Physical meeting :

On july 14th I met Pierre Paillard who was in Vezelay. Pierre has come to the Zone through general semantics. He gave me his book, just published : "Chronique d'Avant Boire : A la gloire des bons vignerons".

Patrice Dantard arrived yesterday, and Philip Beitchman and Lionel Bloom are coming soon . I hope we have a sunny weather and can visit the area, as it's beautiful. Vezelay, 20 kilometers far from here, is the most touristic place in France with the Mont St Michel in Britany.

Also related to art, the strikes of artists which lead to suppress the festivals in France , following a decision from the government to reduce the dole they get when they are unemployed : This strike leads to a number of questions concerning the motivations of the artists, the function of art, the repartition of the benefits from art, and the frauds of enterprises who employ them.
